Christmas Dishes Just Gathering Dust........

Several years ago I bought this wonderful set of four Christmas
dessert plates and mugs and put them on display in a cupboard my husband
made out of old cedar deck boards, and I'm embarrassed to admit
that they've only been used 4-5 times, and I don't know why.  I pass that
cupboard 20+ times a day and usually end up putting my sandwich
on a piece of paper towel. I make a mug of tea every morning and never think to
use these. I've decided to change that, for
what's the use of having something you like but never use?
That will be my New Year's Resolution!

I wanted a cupboard that looked like it had been
well used back in my grandma's day and I thought he did a wonderful job.
It was his first attempt at woodworking and he was embarrassed with the results
until a sister-in-law went absolutely wild over it. I guess her
"absolutely wild" was better than mine because after that he proudly pointed
it out to any and all who graced our home.Men!!!

  1. But what if you break one? What if the glaze starts chipping off? What if they aren't microwave or dishwasher safe? (these are excuses for not using them)

    1. The only excuse I have any more is "I forgot".
